"Fine steeds like true friends are few, even if to the eye of the inexperienced they are many;
if you see only the beauty of their markings and limbs, their true beauty is hidden from you."

News!! Eagle Amir & Zandai Jasoor are currently featured in the Alabama Arabian Horse Association Benefit Auction on www.arabhorse.com! What a great chance at a reduced stud fee for either of these boys, and a chance to help put some major prize money back in our Class A shows!!

Eagle Amir enjoys a quiet afternoon at Century Oak

2005 has been an exciting and eventful year for Century Oak. Once the decision was made that our future lay with the Straight Egyptian bloodlines it was time for some decisions to be made and as hard as they were to make, we feel happy in knowing that the rebalancing of our herd was paving the way for the best possible future for Century Oak. We watched with bittersweet emotions as COA Storm Warning (Smokey) went to live with his new family at Milar Arabians in Lexington, Georgia. We are looking forward with great interest in watching he and Michelle show under saddle and over jumps. We also watched with bittersweet emotions as Century Oak Shahir (Poet) went to live with his new owners, Mark and Christina Layton of Barnesville, Georgia. Why bittersweet? In this day and market it's an accomplishment to sell horses as it is, but to place them with such loving and caring families is it's own incentive and reward. We miss him still as he was one of "our babies", but know he is being well loved and cared for and that has truly helped ease the transition for us.

Since our beginnings we have had good times and bad times, we have laughed at new foals and cried at the passing of dear old friends. We have met wonderful new friends in the Arabian horse world and we have watched friends take a different path in their decisions which took them away from us. Through all of this one thing has held true for us... an undying love and belief in the Arabian breed as a whole. The addition of Zandai Jasoor in 2004 and the slow building of our broodmares has been an exciting journey, one I would not miss for the world. Of course, I cannot speak of Century Oak without mentioning Eagle Amir who is pictured at the top of this page, Who in many ways still is my dream horse incarnate. He truly brings a sense of "presence" to the farm and it's a noticeable absence when he's away somewhere.

Easy to find from Interstate 65 in central Alabama, we invite visitors and love to talk Arabians..give us a call and come on by!
